4th of July

We had quite the day of festivities on July 4th. It started with a barbecue with Rod and Tiffanie and some good ol' American competition. They invited several family and friends over with several activities for the kids and adults. The child competitions included a dunking booth, slide races, 100 ft. slip-n-slide and a jello eating contest.

Can you believe that Morgan won the jello eating contest?

The adult competition got pretty competitive as some really good prizes were up for grabs. Ang teamed up with Jordan and I teamed up with Kamryn. We competed in dunking booth contest, distance on the slip-n-slide (which I found out we may still feel like kids, but we don't fall like kids anymore), football throw and a pie eating contest. Ang and Jordan took 2nd overall. Way to go guys!!

After the barbecue we took the kids to the Stadium of Fire. This was such a wonderful patriotic experience. It really brought tears to my eyes as they spoke of those who are fighting in the war, and everything so many people have sacrificed for our freedom. The National Guard parachuted into the stadium and later unrolled a giant American flag as everyone sang the national anthem. After that concluded four fighter jets flew overhead right on Que.

The event was hosted by Glen Beck, and the performers were the Blueman Group and of course Miley Cyrus. The night ended with an amazing firework display set to several different musical arrangements. Of course ending with patriotic songs that brought tears to my eyes as the stadium filled with voices singing and music and fireworks exploding around us.

We truly had a wonderful 4th of July and are so grateful for all the many blessing we have living in this wonderful country

Happy Birthday Mo!!

On July 1st my baby had her 4th birthday. I can't believe how much Morgan has grown, and how quickly. She wanted to have her party at her favorite place....Chucke Cheese. The week before her birthday she would wake up every day and ask, "Is today my birthday?" Imagine her surprise when McKayla woke her up one morning with breakfast in bed (a.k.a toast and her 'special' soy milk) that she had made for her sister.

Here are some pictures from her party. She invited 4 little friends and Rod and Tiffanie (Rod and Tiff deserve an extra high 5 for attending so willingly).

A couple of gifts she received was a princess piggy bank and a new princess bike.
